View submission: Elon Musk misleadingly suggests other celebrities made controversial 'Nazi' gesture

View parent comment

That’s the thing. Elon Musk is not an anti-Semite. He’s 100% doing this for the attention.

What he did is wrong and he should 100% pay the price for it, but he’s also just a weird immature dude that is rich enough to be able to fight online culture wars that literally don’t matter.

He reminds me of the dorky kid that picks up Shadow in a limousine in the beginning of Neil Gaiman’s American God’s.

Elon Musk *IS* Twitter. It’s who he is as a person now.

Two things can be true.

History has a word for the people who weren't "true believers", but went along with Nazis for money or clout or community.

That word is Nazi.

I dunno. Even a hobby Nazi is still a Nazi. None of us can peer into the minds of others so we only have their actions to go on. Sure, he does things that garner attention, but there are a billion other ways to garner attention. I refuse to dismiss his behavior by minimizing it to a "weird immature dude."

This man has willingly become a public figure and inserted himself into our culture, politics, and every day lives. He is absolutely responsible for conducting himself in a proper, ethical manner (which he blatantly refuses to do).

Elon Musk is not an anti-Semite.

He constantly retweets antisemitic conspiracy theories without mentioning Jews

How many more Nazi things does he need to do in order to be a nazi?

If he’s not an antisemite then why did he go out of his way to restore so many antisemitic accounts when he bought twitter?

Anti smite? Maybe no.

White nationalist? Absolutely yes and this is the description everyone should be using to avoid the semantics games in my mind.
