I'd say lots of people are shitty for a variety of reason and the reason relevant to this discussion is a twisted understanding of what It means to be a man due to lack of willingness to listen to a broader opinion than the ones shared by other men. I wouldn't say that to my coworker cause I don't understand what it's like to be a woman. but I know what it's like to have to much testosterone and be angry all the time. I know what it's like to be told by my father that if I was gay It would be the most disappointing thing I could do to him. I know what it's like to have people feel comfortable shit talking women gays and minorities to me cause I'm a man. don't tell me what toxic masculinity is and isn't I've lived it.
