The modern romance genre is pretty much porn. When I say romance books I don’t mean a lovey dovey emotional rollercoaster. I mean trashy books about a 6’11 vampire werewolf emotionally and physically abusing an 18 year old girl but it’s ok because she’s into it. Seriously, a court of thorns and roses is just straight up torture porn, and it’s the first book you see when entering a book store.
It’s the female version of those harem anime’s that are borderline hentai, and people wondering why anime is male dominated when those are what get so much attention.

I'm struggling to understand how pulp erotica that depicts violence against women being marketed to women is presenting a hostile culture for men in.... reading books?
