Boys stopped reading as many books. I'm not sure why. But bookstores changed what they stock and who they market to because their audience demographics changed. Not the other way around.

Yes. But even though the main consumer base of comics and videogames is male, companies have a huge effort to try to appeal to women, and bringing more women into the fanbase.

When a fandom is male dominated, there is an effort to make it for everyone. When a fanbase is female dominated, it’s just the way things are.

There are several reasons, but the most notable ones is that gaming replaced reading and marketing saw more women reading which creates a feedback loop
