View submission: Mentioning beauty when it’s not necessary

My issue is when people do this with deceased PEOPLE.

A woman/man is savagely killed, and the YouTube comments read: “Awww she/he was so beautiful/attractive”. Only because I think about people who aren’t conventionally, beautiful or attractive. And when that kind of superficial commentary seems like it diminishes human lives….

But to comment on the loss of a beautiful animal seems different.

Yes that too. I thought my post would be less confrontational if I wrote about an animal versus a person. But I’ve seen both, and I didn’t understand it. The commenters helped to explain it, so now I understand they’re not saying that a person or animal not beautiful matters less.
