View submission: Mentioning beauty when it’s not necessary

This is a very strange interpretation of that situation. The commenter was just trying to show compassion and empathy for someone who lost their beloved pet, calling the cat beautiful likely had nothing to do with the magnitude of the loss.

Seems like you injected your own meaning into their words. As a general rule, you shouldn't do that.

Perhaps I’m interpreting it incorrectly. A friend recently posted a photo of herself with her daughter and her niece. It was a beautiful photo. I know her daughter, and she is a lovely person. She has physical deformities, and a woman commenter said some very obvious passive aggressive things about how beautiful the niece was, while utterly ignoring the daughter in the photo. It made me think about other times that people comment on beauty. I see it differently now after reading everyone’s comments. Thank you.
