Yes exactly this. I also had some “pre-ocd” type issues or maybe even mild OCD as a teen (it was exercise related stuff like I had to exercise every muscle group each time I worked out to feel even and couldn’t have a shower if I hadn’t exercised first), but when I managed other stresses in my life, it improved. I still have some very very mild traits and think I can better understand what people with OCD are going through, but I’d never say I have it. I probably just am predisposed to it or something. My cousin has it life-ruiningly severely, and he has had a tougher upbringing than me, it started mild for him too and got out of control for him because of the life stresses.

When I experience high levels of anxiety I begin to exhibit OCD (ex. I had to have my plate and cutlery in a specific order. My boyfriend would move it thinking it was funny while I’m sitting across panicking and compulsively returning it back to the right spot).

I don’t say I have OCD but I have a good idea of the hell that is OCD, and can get « a little ocd » but it’s more accurately explained as extreme anxiety.
