With all the information available online it's not hard to diagnose yourself if you're relatively intelligent. I have depression, which is diagnosed by a doctor, but I also have social anxiety disorder that is rather obvious but not officially diagnosed.

In certain cases like OCD, intelligence doesn’t matter. No such thing as objectivity. It’ll play tricks on you, which is why seeing a professional as soon as possible to get the right kind of support going is important. I broadly agree that stuff like anxiety is okay to “self diagnose” in some capacity, but once it gets severe or tricky…it will eventually become far beyond your understanding.
