The presenter flat out lied. I really don't see how as Americans you can't hold up your senior public officials to higher standard of truthfulness, and be surprised when it goes down the toilet. Your country has become a blatant kleptocracy and you come to reddit to talk shit in defence of your corrupt officials.

I guess if the presenter said "People are imbibing a drink known as H20 which is used to hydrate cows and horses, the Surgeon General would reply that "let me say that H20 is not recommended for hydrating humans, but humans should get their approved version from the tap or the supermarket"

Ivermectin is a treatment for Covid. The fact that it is not FDA approved for Covid doesn't mean it is not a treatment for Covid. The doctors who use it are the ones who judge that, and the FDA cannot dictate to them.

It is just like saying that aspirin is not a blood thinner because it is a pain killer.

1. I'm not American.

2. "If the presenter said" is not a valid argument because he didn't say that. At all.

3. Ivermectin is not a treatment for COVID, the CDC, FDA, Health Canada, NIH, NHS, among others all not only don't recommend it, they recommend *against* taking it. Why? Because it is dangerous. People are OD'ing on it because they're taking it in extreme doses. It is not an actual COVID treatment. It showed moderate effectiveness at 100x the maximum recommended dose. It is an anti-parasitic, not an anti-viral.
