Brigading is just the excuse they are using to ban the sub. It's kind of like catch all that admins can whip out since it's hard to disprove. NNN might have been a scum subreddit, but I think it's unfair to use that BS reason as justification to ban the sub. It lets reddit off the hook for creating real policies to address the real issues. The other thing is that the rules against brigading aren't carried out equally. For example, that sub that got turned into horse porn was clearly brigaded by a few subs but nothing is being done about it. Just my 2 cents as a casual observationist of the current happenings at reddit.

Clearly no. There are dozens of other subs that are merely quarantined.

This is the most important question. We must demand reddit stop being reactionary and stop with these meaningless bandaid.

The irony is that since the "protest" way more subreddits have been brigading INTO NNN than out of it.
How can NNN even organize a brigade when they aren't allowed to link to other posts?

Reddit is the place where leftists label facts they don't like as "misinformation", like the Surgeon-General who engages in the very behaviour he accuses others off.

The problem is that if they banned subs for hosting dangerous health-related disinformation, then the whole site would disappear. The CDC, DEA, WHO, you name it, pretty much all the experts in power agree that marijuana is dangerous enough to send people to prison for decades. Pretty much no one on Reddit tows the official expert line on marijuana. This place is dangerous marijuana misinformation central in the eyes of the experts.

They weren’t but were the ones being brigaded.

Would love to see the answered. Also can you give us more details on the signals that showed you they were brigading?

Reddit does not care if people die.

r/NoNewNormal was explicitly banned for "content manipulation" which you have outlined in this post.
Ironically 5 power mods who hijacked discussion of this topic and multiple subreddits consisting of *millions* of accounts doesn't qualify as "content manipulation" though.
Admins have been known to pick and choose the issues they selectively enforce their ruleset on.
