View submission: How long is your Thanksgiving celebration?
Thanksgiving for me is usually just the day itself, but it tends to stretch over the long weekend, you know? It's like you get the big meal on Thursday, and then Friday you’re just kind of lazing around in a food coma, checking out leftovers, maybe sneaking in a Black Friday sale or two online. My family sometimes does a lunch on Saturday with folks who couldn’t make it Thursday, so it's like an excuse to keep the Thanksgiving vibe rolling a bit longer. I’ve got friends who do a big “Friendsgiving” the weekend before, which makes it feel like it’s dragged out in a good way. I think how long you celebrate kinda depends on your family, how far folks travel, and if they’re staying over. Or if you’ve got kids around, there’s always more planning to do and fun activities to add in or coordinate. Some people (wish that were me) turn into Christmas people right after Thursday with decorations and tree setups. It sort of just blurs into one endless holiday until January.
