does it depend on the person ? is it strangers or does it occur with family as well?

It occurs with family, too. It really just depends on how bad the episode is. I do notice that certain people are less likely to have me actually see the eyes/teeth. For example, while I will absolutely check my husband, he's never had them. My children have, though.

I can usually feel when an episode is coming. It's kind of like feeling overstimulated. I'll notice that I stutter and that I'm super twitchy and all noise bugs me. So I try not to leave the house that day or I take a sedative.
