You dont usually have to request anything. The payroll system should automatically compensate for the difference.

Exactly, it’s illegal for them not to provide at least that amount of pay. If they fired someone for making sure they were paid correctly that would be an easy lawsuit. Still seems wild to me that we can’t just pay those people a decent wage and skip the tip scheme
