If you contact Google support, give them your IMEI, and they confirm that you are still under warranty, they will send you to an iFixit shop for a screen replacement. If the shop discovers water damage, a crack on your screen or a scratch feel enough to catch their finger nail they will refuse to fix it. This was my experience. I had to use my extended warranty and pay the deductible to get an entirely new phone.
