View submission: Trumpism, here to stay?
The thing about Trump though is he demands absolute loyalty, but gives none. Look at his first administration and how many of the people from it still support him after being shunned / burned by him etc.
There absolutely is a concerning rise of far right extremeism but I'm genuinely curious if there is anyone else on the R side who can muster the same cult of personality as he does. At already 78 he's already past the average male life expectancy in the US, but who knows maybe the propaganda machine can pivot to someone else?

Do not underestimate Trump and the sinister group of highly intelligent and avariscious men astroturfing behind him. Trump did do a lot of things he promised his supporters, thus cementing their loyalty to him, and when he dies or needs to be replaced they will find another puppet to replace him. They have been planning and working for decades to take over everything, they've erroded trust in journalism, they've taken control of communication channels and tranformed them into tools of propaganda (Fox, Twitter/X, Facebook, Truth, etc.), they've massed small groups of fringe voters, and only now people are waking up to the disaster that's it in the making. People like the ones behind the tea party, new tea party, breitbart, cambridge analytica, people like Robert Murdoch, people like Roger Stone, people like Elon Musk, people like the ones behind heritage foundation, are as dangerous as Trump.

The thing that amazes me is that this cult mentality has taken over the country and affects at least 30% of your population who becomes starward supporters. He can do whatever he wants. He wants your kids to have no freedom, but that which he and they allow. And 30% is all he needs to rob you all. What a New York con.

Don’t you see how fast they gathered around Musk to defend him? It will not be hard to find a replacement.
