I’m inclined to agree to an extent, certainly where the development of post war social imperialism is concerned. However, none of it really matters today. What I think is far more important is to move away from historic fetishization, which stagnates our movement, and to focus on what can be done for communism in your country today, tomorrow, and so on. Fixating about the policies of an era of history completely alien to our present times is unhelpful. Their realities and choices positive or negative are not our choices in the present. Our challenges, our development, our industries, our culture are fundamentally different today. So rather than rehashing schismatic arguments about what dead person did what “right” long ago and who earns their “true communist” merit badge, let’s maybe focus on what we can be doing to advance communism, organize, and to build unity and solidarity in the movement today.
Opinions on history are like assholes, everyone has one and no one wants to hear it, unless it’s coming from a comedian. If you’re interested in re-fighting the battles of the past, I recommend you look into SCA or something like that and to avoid counterproductive schismatic fights.
