When I was on exchange in the Netherlands, it went as follows:

• (toast) bread with chocolate sprinkles or peanut butter in the morning
• 2 slices of (toast) bread with ham/cheese for lunch (sandwich) (and EVERYONE. EVERY SINGLE PERSON. ate a sandwich for lunch)
• 1 warm meal in the evening (for the sake of efficiency, usually everything cooked together in one pot)
