View submission: What’s the weirdest “unwritten rule” everyone just follows?
Hey, I’m Australian and can confirm that we will automatically walk to the left. This can cause problems when we travel internationally.

This can cause problems when we travel internationally.
The worst part is that it's instinct.
I was cycling in Vietnam on holiday and heard a beep behind me (while turning around a corner in a small lane, so extra panic) so I instinctively pulled to the left... which was also the direction they were going to overtake me.
Same with bumping into random strangers while walking. I'll instinctively go left while they go right, so we bump into one another.
To be fair, I'm in countries where they go right... and I do if I'm thinking, but if it's ever sudden or otherwise subconscious, I usually go left.

Definitely! I'm from Ireland so we are on the left too. They did NOT like me in France!!!
