That’s exactly what I mean though! It’s the negative impact of smaller local areas expanding, it attracts people from elsewhere and becomes more expensive to live in the more popular it gets, and locals get pushed out. And yes, more chain businesses start opening up there - East is the same, there’s a Caffé Nero on Lwr Newtownards Rd now?! I found it hard to believe when it opened, definitely not a good sign.

Sorry meant to reply to the OP. Ormeau road is a really acute version of gentrification because of how in Belfast it's perceived as a very safe area.
