They’re not contradictory.

The “30 different plants” thing is from one experiment where they compared them with people who eat fewer than 10 and found they had better gut health. It’s almost certainly not bad advice and it’d probably be hard to not get a decent amount of fibre if you achieve that goal but five a day is probably simpler advice for most people.

I agree, however 5 a day can be mistakenly thought of by some people as it being healthy to have the same 5 plants a day every day. The 30 a week advice gives a direct advantage of a varied number of different plants
