View submission: Does Slimming World make sense?
That's because they're stuck in the concept of calories in/calories out is how you gain and lose weight. That people are gluttonous or lazy or both, or stupid, if they can't figure it out.
But people gain weight for all kinds of reasons, including psychological and due to underlying health conditions, and also are unable to lose weight for those same reasons.
I fully support people having their own opinions but it would be good if they consider that they don't know everything. And also don't need to be so acerbic towards something they haven't experienced and don't understand. Or that they wouldn't do.

The only reason you'd ever gain weight from a psychological issue is that you're over eating.
Not very relevant but thought I'd point it out.

I agree that there may be a whole host of reasons, including psychological ones, that contribute to weight gain.
But some medical conditions aside, the *mechanism* by which that weight gain occurs is still consuming more calories than you're expending.
