Well described. Most in the thread seem happy to base their opinion on a knee jerk reaction to an isolated detail or somebody else's behaviour/anecdote. It genuinely promotes a satisfying healthy diet, and exercise, if people take the trouble to properly inform themselves.

That's because they're stuck in the concept of calories in/calories out is how you gain and lose weight. That people are gluttonous or lazy or both, or stupid, if they can't figure it out.

But people gain weight for all kinds of reasons, including psychological and due to underlying health conditions, and also are unable to lose weight for those same reasons.

I fully support people having their own opinions but it would be good if they consider that they don't know everything. And also don't need to be so acerbic towards something they haven't experienced and don't understand. Or that they wouldn't do.
