Why wouldn’t they though, when your prescription changed? As a customer you can say ‘I’ll keep my current frames, thanks’ or, if you’re so inclined, ‘no, I’d prefer to keep my current, incorrect lenses’ (however, their quest for sight correction is less of a money grab and more so, y’know, you can *see* properly, kinda important if you’re driving, working, reading… anything really. There’s no good reason to *choose* poorer vision).
What I think a lot of people don’t realise is that you can keep your existing frames if your lense prescription changes. Sure, they might try to ‘upsell’, especially if your frames are a few years old or a bit shonky. But ‘big eyes’ isn’t out to literally rob you blind!

Keeping current frames is hell it. Really is. But prescription changes do need to be taken seriously.

0.25 is negligible, people score that difference taking the test twice in the same day. Having had basically the same prescription all my adult life, my experience at every other shop has been that they say "you don't actually need new glasses, if you wanted to have a look today anyway I can call someone" to which I say no thanks, specsavers were clearly just on a scripted pipeline to push anyone into the glasses shop possible lol.
I wouldn't go back but work gave me free test vouchers only usable at specsavers

Err, they are. Have you seen how much frames and lenses cost? The cost of frames and lenses are far, far cheaper than what they charge. The markup is huge. This Vox article[1] interviews two ex-eyewear executives that say designer glasses are marked up by nearly 1000% and “For $15, you can get designer-quality frames, like what you’d get from Prada.”

Changing a prescription 0.25 is essentially a rounding error
