I’ve never known men that say their friends are better men than they are and yet they also never admit they’re too awful to be around.
Men always talk sh*t about their friends, but yet stay friends with them.

Yes I 100% agree! It applies to men, too. I also know way too many men that stay pals with sexual offenders, abusers, and plain terrible people. I know a guy whose roommate/friend basically tried to scam him out of tens of thousands of dollars. Still invited to the wedding. Still keeping in touch.
I do think what's different with this dynamic in men versus women is that women are societally conditioned to keep quiet and to keep the peace in a way that men aren't. So the exact dynamics are different, and I think the big female frenemy groups are a bit more common. That said, I also think people (especially men) tend to propagate this "Hahahaha women are SOOOO much drama" narrative which is super reductive. Men are also soooo much drama but I guess it doesn't count when it's them. 🤦🏼♀️
