View submission: What's something you never understood about the opposite gender?
You know what's funny about this. I find that it is women/girls who judge and are mean about appearance. Guys can be mean too, but in my life experience the vast majority of people who say mean things about others appearances were women-typically about other women.

I don’t know about that. Most of the mean shit I’ve heard over the years has come directly from guys. Could also make the argument that girls grow up watching media that pits women against each other. That’s changing a little nowadays, but when you teach little girls that their worth is dependent on what they look like/how much they appeal to men, and that they’re never good enough, what do you expect. Hurt people hurt people, you know?

Oh yeah no doubt about that! I feel like I saw it more in adolescence than in adulthood but my judgement could be skewed bc I worked with a lot of men in my career.
