View submission: What’s a better alternative to a funeral?
First, we're in Canada, where even Death Care can be free.
Pick a university with a medical school. Originally, I contacted the Univ. of Toronto, but we since moved to BC, so I went to UBC. They gave me a nice plastic card for my wallet with "**Body Donation Program**" so the organ thieves don't get me first.
When I croak, UBC gets my bod. After they examine the life I lived, the old bod goes to the oven, to the urn, to the mantle. No charge to kids.

I took forensics as part of a physical anthropology program when I lived and went to university in California, where we learned about the body farm in eastern Tennessee. It's land where they place bodies to test and measure decomposition and so on to advance knowledge for forensic analyses. Now I live about 2 hours from said body farm and I want to be dumped there, assuming that I have no organs useful for donation.
