I'm old too but I love Reddit for the opposite reason - lotsa smart people here. But it's the ones who can't spell or use proper grammar with run-on paragraphs that make me want to quit it every day.

I partially agree, but I figure that, wherever you go, offline or online, there will always be people who are annoying for whatever reason. The trick is to try to just appreciate the presence, in whatever context, of a wide variety of people and just try to tolerate the annoying ones.

Ok AND think about this: more people are reading and writing more (and with others from various countries, ethnicities, classes, languages, ages etc. etc.) than every before in human history; something’s got to give and so if its some grammar and spelling big deal? Sure occasionally it can cause confusion but when reading for content more often than not, not. Run on paragraphs are hard to read though for sure.

Oh god yes…the huge run-on paragraphs written on their phone…I started skipping those…
