I got more active on Reddit when I was caring for my mom with dementia. The group is supportive and informative and helped in more ways than I can write. Now the stop drinking group is really good and just a reminder that I can get thru a day without a glass of wine. In the autism sub, I read about autism and experiences other parents are having. I have a grandson with autism and sometimes I don’t know what’s happening. There’s just a wealth of information on Reddit. It’s just experiential, it’s not necessarily facts and research. But sometimes I just need to know that others are having similar experiences as me. It’s comforting.

There are thousands of microfocused subreddits on pretty much every topic imaginable. Any decent one is pretty much self-policing by interested parties.

My father passed on December 10th from Alzheimer's, in the living room.

The dementia subreddit is a lifesaver.
