I was 40 when I got my commercial pilot rating. I flew for 18 years. I had to retire early. I developed a neurological disorder, from getting too many concussions playing 8 years of highly competitive football. I lost my medical certificate. Now I have a service dog who helps me. He can smell a chemical change in my brain, 15-30 before an event is going to happen. I loved flying. I miss it everyday. Where we live the plane turn onto their final approach to the Denver airport.

Appreciate the reply! Unfortunately I too have had 6 diagnosed concussions (plus however many undiagnosed) from HS/college football. Might still be worth looking into.

Sorry to hear the impact it’s had on you and wishing you the best.
