I asked what if they had a solid IT department and a positive relationship with them.

The IT guy at my last job made me a home made Persian Baklava before my departure. I find it unlikely the old boy in the new job will be baking me any pastries 😅

An IT department that is calling hr on the new guy for a non offensive meme, 3 weeks after an email is sent, all while giving no guidance on the actual IT questions in the email does not sound like effective nor a collegial relationship.

Sounds dysfunctional and petty.

You sound insufferable.

“Old boy” man you really aren’t beating the unprofessional ageism allegations.

They might bake you pastries if you learn to interact with them in the appropriate way expected in this company’s culture.

You made a mistake. It happens. You are making another one with the attitude of “it’s you, not me”.

You’re the new guy. Trust me, it’s you.
