Reset Reboot's quick notes

Here I will be putting some quick notes for the tinylog, for when I feel not that much into writing long posts.

Rendering a visualizer for one of my livemixing recordings... turns out that some particle simulations make every frame take up 1.6 Gbs of RAM. Blender + EeVee will make short work of the 400K frames. Started last night, still on 150k frames done.

Well, discovered that I have to add to python path manually at the beginning of my CGI python scripts to be able to use any kind of virtualenv. I think it is worth mentioning because I haven't found any documentation when you need extra dependencies (using JetForce, other gemini servers may behave differently!).

Working on a CGI script to browse and subscribe to read tinylogs. For now... the basics of parsing are there. I want to have a small database to draw a public timeline of tinylogs that will grow as people add new tinylogs and you can have your own timeline based in your own subscriptions. No, posting will be to each their own.

There was a time, where the Internet was all about interoperatibility, getting your information across the webs, aggregators, programs, etc...

Now companies decided they are losing revenue (read: they actually want more) by letting programs read their data and websites

(it wasn't theirs to begin with, because that data belongs to their users in fact) and start closing their APIs and access to third party apps everywhere. Not just Twitter, now Reddit too:

Reddit may force Apollo and third-party clients to shut down, asking for $20M per year API fee

Mind you, all Reddit users are NOT thrilled because the official app is pure garbage. I have to wonder, how long the Insular Corporate Internet can sustain itself?

After seeing winter's rant about Wordle and what the New York Times has done with it:

Wordle doesn't need an editor

I'm considering releasing the Wordgemile code so everyone can spin up their own, since mine is for spanish language! Have your own Wordle in your capsule, with your own dictionary. English, Esperanto, Toki Pona... ;)

I have to love the discussion about centralization that I'm seeing with Bubble. So far, I think we should strive for a duality: centralization + decentralization. Get the best of both worlds!
