We saw Aughnanur Castle which was very nice, drove all the way to Clifden, checked in, drove on to Letterfrack and did a little walk in the Conamara National Park. Nice peat bogs, and a nice little exhibition at the visitor center. Unfortunately Diamond Hill was wrapped in clouds (or was it fog?) and so we did not the long tour. We returned to the hotel and enjoyed some complimentary afternoon tea with scones. Nom!
Then we retired and slept until dinner time. Boy, I’m tired. 😄
P.S. No wifi and no cable in this room. I’m playing Avadon on my iPad instead of surfing the Interwebs. Claudia thinks I’m such a nerd...
Abbeyglen Castle Hotel was spacious and old. I liked it very much. It reminded me of the hotel in Cork. This was also the first time I saw the hotel being heated by a three or four peat fires. I’m not sure I like that.
