More Oddmuse hacking: Implemented page aliases using permanent anchors, did away with the special syntax required for linking to permanent anchors. Permanent anchors and page names now share the same namespace. MeatballWiki has been a tremendous help getting some of these ideas straight.

Erez Zukerman made me think about searching again, and so I finally did the right thing and allow searches for “apple and pear”, “apple or pear”, “apple and pear or banana”, etc. At the moment, “or” binds stronger than “and”: Think of “apple and pear or banana” as “(apple and (pear or banana))”. I’m not sure whether that is a problem or not. It may not make sense from a mathematical point of view, but it sure makes sense from an information-retrieval point of view.

His mails always remind me that I have so much mail from the ElectronicIntifada, ViridianDesign and from the WorldSummitOnTheInformationSociety people piling up in my inbox. Its terrible. InformationOverload is getting me.

On a lighter note, I am truly enjoying my read of Nagib Machfus’ *Zwischen den Palästen*, ISBN 3-293-20065-6.

I keep collecting interesting (Swiss) newspaper articles, meaning to summarize and translate them to English. Today I’ve finally managed to handle one of them. See GovernmentSpending. 😄
