It kind of feels like I lifted the tune from somewhere, but maybe that's just the subject matter. There have certainly been a lot of hello songs.
This song was originally recorded a-capella while in my car. (It wasn't moving, so there wasn't a lot of car-noises to deal with.) This is my first song posted that had the chords inserted entirely after the fact.
I didn't particularly get original with the chords, but... Baby steps! ... and this song didn't particularly call for a crazy chord progression. At first I thought I'd try a longer/custom chord progression, then I was like... "Let's try just the two." It worked a lot better than the mess I'd been trying to use, so just two it is.

Hello, hello, hello to you.
To you, I say "Hello."
Hello, hello, hello to you.
To you, I say "Hello."
I hope that you are having a good day
I am glad you did not stay away
Hello to you, hello to you
to you, I say "Hello."
I have often wondered here
if you would say "Hello."
As I go on saying "Hello" to you,
would you ever say "Hello?"
I have have just found out that you are a plant,
plants don't usually talk.
And still this morning, I greet you thus
"Hello to you! Hello!"
I have wondered, often, you know
what the plants they might say.
Still, they say "hello to you."
Hello to you, hello.
