solderpunk's ROOPHLOCH 2024 announcement
I'm not a native blogger/phlogger/gemlogger. I do not often write articles.
I'm a bad english writer, but I wanted to write this in english.
Today is the last day of September, so it has to be TODAY.
acpi says "3:20 remaining", but I assume the time the battery will last will be a bit shorter. A sun-driven power supply would be nice!
https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/2023/12/how-to-build-a-small-solar-power-system/
But I didn't build such a system yet, and anyway I do not want to sit in full sunlight.
Today is a beautiful autumn day in Germany, sun, wind, 13°C, and so I put a hoodie on and ride my bike. I live on the edge of the city and 2km away there's green and quiet (although you can still hear the street noise). To go there I have to cross several roads, which is always life-threatening, but this time I finally survived this additional challenge and you can read this.
I had to choose a ROOPHLOCH-conform place, and my first choice isn't allowed because it has a roof. I'll go there later, but at first I have to take this one:
the openstreetmap node for my bench
It has a beautiful view
a picture of my bench with view and bike
and I have coffee, cookies and even milk. And a T420 with vim, Goyo, Pencil, Limelight, and git. Walkers with dogs, and bikers pass by every now and then.

I don't want to write using a screen keyboard on a handheld device, so I have to use the Thinkpad. The other one (T400) with brighter display has no battery anymore, but the conditions on my bench are fine anyway and I can see what I type.
Next challenge: the bench is tilted, the notebook slides away if I just put it on my legs before me. I have to turn to the side and put the notebook on the bench. I don't care much about that, I can try several positions and make breaks to stretch my back. acpi still happy.
I'm writing this offline. It's possible to connect via mobile hotspot, but I don't want to, and it is not necessary. My gemini capsule is a git repository, so I can make commits locally and push it to the server later when I'm back home. The pictures are made with my mobile phone, synced with Syncthing (which is possible without internet connection, too) and resized with graphicsmagick.
I'll move now and finish this article in the first-choice place which has better conditions and an even greater view. Roofed, but still outside.

There are dragonflies around! (no picture, sorry)
At home the sourdough bread is resting. breadpunk.club unfortunately died a while ago, but homemade bread is still a thing.
my breadpunk.club page, but server is unreachable
Maybe it's time to start a bread page here. My breads are not exciting, true punkrock breads without recipe and scale, with varying ingredients, always the same process. Delicious!
Thank you solderpunk for motivating me to spend almost two hours in this beautiful places. It's like when you go fishing just to be outside and to do almost nothing.
