now im back in the EVIL cruel land of England. hate it. and im back at work. AND i've been sick. vile evil cruel world fukken hate it here just wanna be in my girlfriend's arms where i belong

update on the reading! started reading regularly before bed, managed to get into A Wizard of Earthsea and really enjoyed it! i then went on to absolutely plow through the second and third book on my flights to and from Canada and now i'm on the fourth book! about halfway through that now :3

also unrelated but i'm writing this post using Textreme 2, which means when i do *thiiiiis* things flash cool rainbow colours hehe

although i've turned the highlights off because words between -dashes- get highlighted and i.. i use dashes as punction. like i do in the paragraph below, oooh, spoilers

i'm currently slowly working on a daft little demo/proof-of-concept for asynchronous turn-based browser games. the demo i'm making is just tic-tac-toe. storing the state of the game as a URL parameter is nothing new but i've just never seen anyone do it for actually creating a turn-based multiplayer game. the idea is that you place your X/O on the board, then get a shareable link that you can send your friend. your friend can then click on that link and make *their* move. but none of the game state is stored on a server or anything, it's all just stored as that URL param.

tic-tac-toe is a very basic and simple example but you could do this sorta thing for connect 4, chess, or any custom turn-based board game. and sure you could cheat by editing the URL parameter (providing you know the format used) but the idea of this is having fun with ur pals and playing games in an asynchronous manner (such that players can make their moves at their leisure). it's not gonna be like.. serious competitive shit innit

anyway, i once again don't know how to sign off a post but i must go because, frankly, i'm typing this at work and i've got shit i'm supposed to be doing LMAO love u all byeeeeeeeeeeeee
