Almost everything that I hate on the internet also sucks on screenreaders, but I maybe need to stop using that as excuse since people then ask me stuff as if I were an expert on screenreaders, which I am not.

You don't need to be an expert on screenreaders -- or even a screenreader user -- to know and express how and why something doesn't work well with them and to bring attention to the issues. In fact, you have some advantages here. First, you have a grasp of the problems, which most people do not. Second, you can speak and write coherently about them. Third, and perhaps most importantly, you are yourself not a screenreader user, so you may have an easier time than I do of relating to other people who don't use screenreaders.

I strongly encourage you to please keep on using that excuse.
