As communities in the USA are, at the time of writing, grieving and outraged following the police killing of George Floyd earlier this week[5], it makes zero sense not to talk about this; to try and understand police and state violence and the ongoing targeting of racialised and marginalised sections of our communities.
I don't want to talk at length where I can instead amplify the voices of others, so what I would like to do is share a few articles, that I feel capture a useful response to current news, and the ongoing systemic realities of police and state violence, within a UK context:
