Small update: psychedelics, nutrition, meditation, exercise, SSRIs

I just wanted to leave a small update on my previous post[1] on wellbeing and my considerations around medication.

I picked up a prescription of SSRIs, but I have since decided not to start taking these - at least not just yet. I looked around at friends I know who have used these, and I know a fair few people that 'do well' with this medication, but I realised I don't know a single person who had gone on these and then come off. It struck me that the decision to go down that route might be getting myself into something that I might not be able to stop.

So I've decided instead to have one more really solid shot at diet/nutrition and a physical wellbeing routine, before I think about going on these. One last shot at really focusing on my physical health better than I ever have before - good eating, good sleeping, good exercise, etc. I also want to look into the options for more talking therapies, as even if I *do* consider taking the SSRIs, I want a process such as therapy to form a backdrop against this, through which I can measure responding or working through things differently with the chemical change.

In terms of where I'm at right now, I'm pretty shook. My housing situation has collapsed so I'm about to enter the ridiculous rental market again which is just a horror show in London. And I'm having a few other struggles. But I'm determined to at least try and get a good physical health routine going and see if it leads somewhere good, and hopefully somewhere new.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my longer post. I hope it was useful or good reading for at least a couple of people.

is it possible to adjust habits by a temporary change in chemical composition? (contemplating SSRIs)
