So, I accepted one of the roles (the non-agency one) and I'm really looking forward to it. The role lands at a point in time where my workload in my current role is once again ramping up to unsustainable levels, like I can see the crest of a wave (of workload) that's about to come crashing down on me, so I'm making the move at the right time. That said, I'm working my ass off on my notice period currently so as to not leave my colleagues too swamped with what I'm leaving behind.
I'm keen to try and go into the new role with a slightly shifted attitude, trying to manage workloads more effectively and keep a more sustainable work/life balance.
I'm probably way behind on this, but I've recently been listening to 'this machine kills' podcast. I'd v.much recommend this episode on how to think about data ft. Salomé Viljoen. Great focus on shifting our perspective on data away from the trap of individualism and more towards its social constitution. This also refocuses the tech 'sovereignty' trend that had some prominence in left tech circles for a few years (to much frustration)
