Does anyone have any tips, or advce, on getting the most out freecodecamp's responsive web design course? I'm currently going through it and I'm realizing a lot of it is not sticking. Is it best to just keep plowing through the course? If you've taken it before, what has worked for you to learn the material? If not, other than a college course, what other approach can I take to learn web development?

I'm looking at wordgrinder, again, as a possble quick way to start writing without any fuss. What

bothered me most in the past, is that it took about two seconds for the menu to display after

hitting the escape key. It was annoying, and the files it saved had extra bits of stuff other than

your text. Apparently, which I didn't know, you can access the menu items instantly with the

shortcut keys. And if I wanted my file as plain text, I should've been exporting it as plain text. I

think I'm sold on this thing.

I spent several hours, today, setting up a phlog on SDF.org. I can't say why it was important for me. It's like when I thought,"Hey let's try Emacs." My biggest mistake was not researching it enough. I thought using the MKGOPHER on the site would would make it easy. It hid a lot of the setup and structure behind the scenes, and when things went wrong (because I don't know how to follow instructions), I was lost in what to do next. I got myself out of that "utility" and figured things out. It was a good learning experience. I'm not sure if it was worth it, but it felt good when I saw my blog show up on both bombadillo and lagrange.
