I like that station seems to have a natural defense for certain kinds of personality archetypes who cant help but angrily spew their beliefs and argue with everyone they don't agree with. A couple of users I personally disliked have come and gone already, and im sure more will follow. Some people want an echo chamber, some want never ending arguments to *win*, They last a few months, say their piece, realize they aren't getting the reaction/interaction they crave, and move on to the next community. The people who actually have something interesting to say in a respectful way, who want to have a dialog without it turning into a opinion battle, who want to be friendly and cooperative, stick around.

I've noticed this too. Station is very civil and chill, there is no encouragement for the aggressive behaviour you see on twitter. Checking station for me truly only means reading about people's lives and passions for a bit and interacting. Without being afraid of bad faith interpretations of a post like on twitter. 路 2 years ago
Yeah Station's moderation from what I can tell has been really hands off and it's been going great so far. Just ignoring the handful of crazies can sometimes be the best form of self moderation since some people even get off on having their posts deleted or getting banned. 路 2 years ago
station is like an old forum, where the bad orators are ignored and the interesting ones are listened to: it's not perfect but the alternative is constant status games 路 2 years ago
I appreciate that the community on Station knows better than to engage with people like that. People come here to avoid flames wars, not to fan them. I hope it stays that way--I have no intention to change it. 路 2 years ago
Amen to this. Still amazed at how friendly and interesting Station is, even as it has grown. 路 2 years ago
