bringing my personal computer to work has been a real game changer, now when I have 40 mins to kill between schedule things instead of playing on the phone or staring into space I can boot up some computer games or do some writing/digital creation. This is actually the first time in a long time that I've been forced to use the laptop offline for long periods of time and frequently. I may have to revisit ploums offpunk now that its sync feature actually matters to me.

@smokey this sounds like a great option. love it when people manage to escape the rat race and try something else. physical labor has been almost healing for me lately, as my day job is awfully sedentary (watching computers behave while moving bytes around). i visited a similar place to your workplace once and the staff all had their personal devices as well. ยท 1 year ago

@danrl currently am a housekeeper/custodian for a local addiction rehab clinic. I have a electromechanical engineer degree and used to be a industrial maintenance technician but it was stressful 12hour shifts in an industrial environment which wore me down after couple of years. I took this job as a temporary cool down thing, low pay and high physical labor sometimes but very low stress go at your own pace with no boss. I like the physical labor too, don't need a gym membership lol. My schedule tends to have lots of free spots since I finish some things faster than expected to. ยท 1 year ago
