Idea: Gemini over AX25 I'd like to try to serve a gemini page over AX25. I'd like to do so on AX25 natively. I'm currently peering over the protocol specs, and it doesn't seem like TCP/IP is a necessity. If this can be done, then it could be quite useful to get basic news, traffic reports, etc, maybe even email over a very slow connection. AX25 is usually run at 1200 bps on higher bands (2m, 70cm and up), and 600 baud on HF.

I think it would be quite interesting to build out a basic set of services and put it up on CB for example. The client certs would certainly come in handy as well. One station could cover 100s of km.

@wim Gopher would definitely work. I'm not familiar with Spartan, so i wouldn't know. 路 3 years ago

It would appear that TCP/IP is not a hard requirement for TLS, so it appears that this could be feasible. 路 3 years ago

@defunct Yes. I'm looking at this, and whether it is possible to run TLS over anything other than TCP/IP. TCP/IP can be layered on top of AX25, but it is pretty inefficient, so i'd like to avoid that if at all possible. 路 3 years ago

TLS is mandatory though 路 3 years ago
