I've always had this mental block about SiriusXM being an obsolete satelite radio company stuggling to stay relevant versus carplay & android auto . But now that I've been using it for a while, it's hands down my favorite music streaming service. They have mixes put together by actual DJs (with no ads) that are are sooo much more interesting than the usual spotify/apple/pandora algorithms.

@schonuki Netflix has lost millions and millions of dollars in the last quarter and piracy is on the rise. They are making the exact same mistakes that cable companies did: Offering to much for to much when people simply want one or two things.

People don't watch the 900 differnet shows spread across 15 different streaming platforms. they watch niche things an d are thus being forced to do with out certain things because they are spread across many different (expensive platforms) I believe piracy will win out in the end.

Assuming that something else doesn't rise to replace streaming, but, I don't see what technology could be developecd to really *do* that at this point. 路 2 years ago

@comatoast I mostly share your feelingq, but I can't really see streaming as dying at the moment. What makes you say that? 路 2 years ago

Even FM radio is sometimes like this if it's a good station and you're lucky enough to catch an actual DJ. You just have to look past the seemingly 10 minute ad breaks of course :) 路 2 years ago

Streaming is just really bad in general, tbh and a dying platform (thakfully) Not to sound rude or snobby, but, I just am trying to get to a point where I simply download/pirate everything and store it on permanet storage. 路 2 years ago
