So, I was actually really happy with the cheap Casio classic watches, under 20 euros and absolutely sufficient. But they broke recently, just like analog Casio watches. It started with condensation on the display. At work, I switch back and forth between warm rooms with rather high humidity and much cooler, dry, heavily air-conditioned storage rooms. I could imagine that this is the cause of the problem. Now looking for a stable replacement. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot at first and would like to test it under working conditions....

Would a water resistant watch help here? I'm thinking they're not airtight, humid air can still ingress and condense. This can be exacerbated with air-pressure changes.

I'd even suggest that the less airtight and water-tight the better, like drill vent holes. Or just periodically open the back and let it dry out? ยท 8 months ago

I have DW5600BB โ€” a classic in black finish, I like them very much. They shouldn't be very expensive and they are water resistant, I've washed my hands without ever worrying about it โ€” a little humidity definitely shouldn't be a problem.

I've replaced battery in mine for the first time in I think 7 years โ€” a bit tricky, but nothing too complex. I have placed the rubber ring back properly and I hope they keep their water resistant property after me doing this.

All in all โ€” I would definitely recomend them: they look good, solid build quality and without extra fluff so they aren't expensive. What's not to like? ยท 8 months ago
