There are http alternatives to gemini, @maria http://txti.es/

Yeah, somewhere between the two. I see txti.es does allow editing after posting, as well as choosing a custom URL path segment, which Pastebin does not, whereas gemlog.blue allows creating multiple pages under the same path/directory while txti.es does not.
But yeah, I certainly wouldn't call it an alternative to Gemini. They're in totally different categories anyway. Like, I wouldn't try to compare Facebook to SSH. 路 3 years ago
@lykso Like gemlog.blue? 路 3 years ago
Seems more like a Pastebin alternative to me?
What interests me about Gemini is largely that it a useful, simpler alternative to HTTP and Web standards. I like that it's so simple to write a client and server for it. This will help prevent the centralization of power we've seen in Web browsers (for example) and simplify building services quite a bit. (E.g., there's no need or ability to waste effort rewriting everything in the frontend framework du jour every couple years.) 路 3 years ago
Okay. Congrats. 路 3 years ago
but I have a domain and I run my stuff on my rpi. it just has some issues with forwarding the ports at times, no idea why yet 路 3 years ago
The example I gave is just to create a log, of course. If yuo want more you can have your own http server, and your own domain name for $20 a year (if you're not too picky). Y U no host? 路 3 years ago
somehow I don't get it 馃槼. you can post a text there right?... depending on what Gemini represents for you, this is an alternative, I guess? 路 3 years ago
