Had to kick myself off the fediverse today. Have been spending too much time staring at the waterfall of posts in the federated timeline, and "attempting to log out for a day and failing" is usually a sign that I'm getting too hyperfocused. I keep catching myself logging in by sheer muscle memory without even realizing I'm doing it. lol

At least in fediverse you have a little more curated content, so you could benefit from it. But yeah, any doomscrolling is bad. 路 1 year ago

While I know this feeling, the fediverse is like a nicotine patch to a full blown cigarette. So many dark patterns are simply nonexistent on the Fediverse. Gemini goes one better though. 路 1 year ago

I've been thinking of doing the same. I'm beginning to really hate scrolling timelines. I just want longform articles and asynchronous updates these days. Maybe I'm just getting old. 路 1 year ago
