I'm enjoying being a part of smaller social communities on the internet. I feel a lot more comfortable. Also, since there's no incentive to keep my eyes on the screen to look at ads, I actually go outside and talk to my neighbors more often. Who woulda thought that becoming more of a computer nerd would actually result in me being less of a "basement shut in" stereotype?

Yeah, I've really been unplugging a lot, too. Now that I am pretty much unable to use Birdsite and Snoosite altogether thanks to the idiots behind them, touching grass is unavoidable. The replacements (Station, Mastodon, Pixelfed, and Lemmy) are quiet and friendly enough that I can enjoy them without being constantly glued to them. · 1 year ago
