Been thinking that part of why I struggle to find things on the web is that I've trained myself to talk to search engines like I'm asking a person a question instead of looking for specific keywords. Problem is that search engines have been optimized for people doing that, so putting in the effort to do it the "right way" doesn't yield any better results anymore, except in some specific cases. Search operators don't even seem to work anymore.

I think this is an example of an idea that's vaguely forming in my head lately, which amounts to "some tools are hard to use because making them easier also makes things less useful." ยท 2 years ago
